A breath of fresh air

The weather is workable again.  The yard is screaming my name.  But we're still in recovery mode.   After three days indoors we craved a hike and a fire. Dogs and mallows made it sweet.  So did Avery's snuggly mood.  The trails in Umstead park were soggy from the rain from the day before but I lured the rascals into the forest for a *short* jaunt by feigning a Fairy Hunt.  Hunters must be brave and quiet.  Our clues: ferns, moss, and shimmery rock quartz.  Their Dad admonished them to breath deep when they find themselves in a forest to sample the freshest air around.  I can't wait to return in Spring.

sounds like spring in rochester! What a lovely family outing. Nothing beats fresh outdoor air for the little (and big) lungs.

Bleck! I've just caught up on your blog. Sorry about all the sickness your goochkins are expelling. Great fatherly admonition. Love the last photo.
