An aPEELing Afternoon

Early Thursday morning Avery ate grapes and perused the map/globe collection in the Attorney's office. It's amazing what a dozen or more signatures and a set of keys can set in motion. Many decisions being made quickly. We spent all day at the Cottage. The dining room, the sunniest room in the house (with the chandelier) will be transformed from the current state of "Teal" to a cooler, more serene "Wolf Gray". The "Yellow, verging on ochre" in the Living room (with the shelves) may stay...As for the guest room, that knotty bead board was spanked by my Ace brush and a can of primer this afternoon.

As we've introduced ourselves and our rascals to her, the Cottage has in turn uncovered a few surprises of her own. Two thousand spiders. A toy sailboat. Six different varieties of Thyme. Grapes on a grape arbor at the rear of the bakyard. And...Wallpaper. One peel of the Pinkish-Orangeish paint in Seth's room and the deal was sealed. Dr. Gooch went to town with the DIF and a scraper and revealed the original paint.

Me: It's a nice light blue color
Seth: It's Carolina Blue!!!!
It looks like we're Tar Heels after all. But, can you guess what color we'll be painting over UNC's prize pigment?

Hooray! Can't wait to see your magic. Aren't you grateful to people who made great choices like built in shelves and little beadboard nooks? I'm so glad you're there!

By the way, I love the previous picture Seth took--so great!

Scraping off wallpaper is one of the worst jobs in the world. Hooray for Dif! And Dr. Gooch.

I think you should keep the Carolina Blue wall as a homage to your new state and home. Go UNC!!! I graduated from UNCW, but my heart still belongs to UNC. I live in Whiteville, NC which is about 2 hours from Raleigh. Since Seth likes trains, I thought you would like to know that my dh works for CSX railroad and goes through Raleigh all of the time with the trains.
