So, we did it.  In fact, it was just completed about 15 minutes ago.  Our first year of the public school experience.  For us, it is hard not to go that route since we pay out the nose in taxes---or we did this year at least.  We loved his teacher, the school was fine, he learned how to read and we discovered his knack for detail in both writing and drawing.  I tried to balance the girls at home and still managed some face time in the classroom.  We went to Donuts with Daddy, the Mother's Day Tea, spent a whole day in the sun at K-2 Field Day, and Dr. Gooch made it for the end-of-year luncheon---and that was all just in the last few months.  Our public school experience seemed like a success.

So, (now 20 minutes ago) Seth ran from the bus into my arms--both of us relieved for the reprieve of a break from routine.  His lovely driver and I exchanged "Have a great summer" greetings and Seth tore home ecstatic at the prospect of the vast expanse of summer vacation ahead of him.  As he stripped down and donned his swimming trunks he said,

"I got three chocolate suckers in my backpack!!"
Me: "Really!?  What did you get them for?"
"Because I done good in school!!"
Me: "Oh...what...was that?"

That Seth is growing up. I love his slicked hair below, and the "actor" shot above.
