Christmas is over...



...and the decorations are beginning to overstay their welcome. But not our visitors! Most of them left today, and I realized what a diversion they were for my children (and in turn for me). It was a welcome reprieve from being "the entertainer" of the household. We have another batch arriving tonight, they'll stay on for New Years. After they leave, the party will be over for real. We'll surely feel as deflated as our luminarias looked the morning after.

I suppose there's a reason these are done in the Southwest and not the Southeast

Love the luminarias! We did them in PA, but its not quite the Southeast! Have fun with your sister and new neice!
