April Buy Nothing Challenge

I'm buying nothing the whole month of April. Well, except essentials--you know, food, diapers, gas, etc. But, nothing else. Nothing new. If I need something non-essential, I'm going to barter, trade, make it myself (yep, Ashley, you heard right) or otherwise find used items. Care to join me? The most difficult part will be avoiding the sliding doors of Target and succumbing to the quick fix dinner for the kiddos and not eating out. Other than that, we are largely home bound between the babes and the belly. Come on, ya wanna do it?

sounds good espessially for the wallet but can it be done in practice? I think I would personally have a hard time at this one. but, worth it to try to cut spending to a min.

Hmmm...I wish I could join you, but alas, I can't. My sister's wedding is end of April and I still have to buy jewelry, cut my hair, highlight my hair, pedicure, manicure...the list goes on and on. Maybe in May I'll try it:)

Ok, Miss Jordan....I'm in. I don't need to buy anything because then I will just have to move it. Yes, I will join (won't Jason be pleased!)

I'm with Melissa. Anything I buy will move with us, so count me in! (I will have to make an exception during the week of spring break, though, for travel expenses and food...) OK, maybe not...I will try for May, unless I can still be considered for April with the exception of next week...

Jordan, you're awesome! I am SO excited for your new baby girl and am on pins and needles anticipating another great Mangum name!

I'm excited to hear what you "trade, barter or make it yourself". Good thing you don't live as close to a Target as I do. I can walk to mine!

I decided at the beginning of the year to go the whole year with only buying clothes at the thrift store for the whole family. I am more then a 4th of the way through! Ordering online from Target has been the hardest to give up.
Good luck!

I can do it. I have been doing it for a few years now. That's how it is when your committed to getting out of debt. You get used to it.
