The last time I saw sweet Stephanie she wasn't married and didn't have four adorable children. I was a senior, she was a freshman, we were in student government together. It was pure delight watching her in her element. First of all, "her element" is every bit as charming as the pictures show and she worked magic with Sunday dinner. They have salmon every Sunday for dinner. This one was grilled out of doors with alder wood chips, the scent it gave paired nicely with the cooler-than-we-were-used-to air that evening. We filled our taste-buds and the air with perfection: food and conversation. We dined in yellow (table and flowers) under candlelit ambiance dangling from the tree. These two Nielson's know how to do it right and didn't miss a trick.
The kids got along swimmingly and Lucy even warmed up to Jimmy (though she somehow ended up in only her diaper by the evening's close). Claire had me complete some pretty complicated "homework" she had drawn up whilst the Salmon smoked away under Mr. Nielson's care. Jane told me all about everything and called Hazel, "Basil". Stephanie and I caught up on happenings since 1996 and I was glad to have found her again in 2007. They are all gentleness and charm. Thank you "Nienie".
