The kids were giddy this morning. On this first day of preschool, Seth asked at 7am (for the first time ever) if he could get dressed. He is sporting his new "running shoes" and as we dashed out front to snatch up this photo opportunity he dashed a little to quickly across the gravel and slipped skinning a knee. This is why he is not smiling. Lucy was quick to comfort. You could tell she was so proud to be going with Seth to do "preschool projects". She was beaming like this all morning.

So, it has been two hours and I've gotten everything done and more. Hazel napped soundly the whole time (still sleeping) without any blood curdling interruptions. It is going to be a great year!

I love this little preschool. There are only 6 kids and three teachers. We know all the teachers, they are so good and patient with the kids. It is the perfect environment and gets the kids used to a school setting without laying it on too thick. They are given plenty of play time and yet it is structured enough to avoid boredom. I wish Lucy could attend next year when Seth goes to kindergarten, but we will be scouting out new schools for the kids in a new town. Our little family is growing (;

What bliss to have two away for hours at a time! Lucky Hazel to have alone time.

They look so cute dressed for school. How fun that they can go together. I am not sure how to interpret the last comment and wink.

Preschool and a simultaneous nap? This is going to open up new worlds for you! How exciting for everyone.

And now I'm curious about everyone's curiosity ... hmm!

How exciting for Seth to start preschool and for you to be able to get some things done!

Are you messing with us or what?

I love the look on Seth's face. I am sure it brightened when he got there. And whoopie for you to have some time. MOM

You so need that time to yourself, to do whatever it is that YOU need to do. Hooray for Hazel sleeping through it! She's an angel.

any time in quiet is a good time. I loved when schooling children overlapped with nap time. Great year indeed.
