When I came home this morning this is where the sun was perched. Is it extra bright here? There are long term consequences to giving birth to three children. I felt them on my 6-mile attempt at running today (at least that is my present excuse). I wanted to jump into the canal I was jogging beside. I was hoping for a much more energetic run, inspired by my lovely friend and her recent discovery of the "runner's high". I wanted to feel this, but it was not this morning's fate. I came home to oatmeal cooking on the stove and as the rush of breakfast went on the sweat just would not quit. So, still in my gear, sans shoes, I took a post-runner's dip:
Aaaah...and decided, though my race is only two weeks away, I will be fine for these reasons: It is only half of a marathon, Craig will be by my side urging me on, and of course there are those water/snack stations, plus--let us not underestimate the power of "race adrenaline". A unexpected cheer-up today made the above picture possible--notice those lovely lined and glossed lips and a mask to mask any premature or unwanted disturbances to my sleep...who are these girls that gather their favorite things together and send them to people (all goodies not pictured)? (I actually do know who they are--you are gems, just gems!) Thanks for the little luxury found on my step today.
***To "pay it forward" I will randomly draw one name out of all comments left on this post and send that person a selection of my "favorite things". You guys, I'm serious. You have great odds here--my comments max out at like--sixteen.***
