Charisma

Little Gypsy Girl

One day Craig asked, "What if we all lived with no excuses?" Everyone is always making excuses for themselves for ways they didn't measure up or just plain messed up. We are always on the lookout for a place to put blame: the weather, our families, our job, our education, our hormones, our budget, our age, or the city in which we live.
Lucy will have none of this. To her, life is life and she takes it in a hop-skippity stride. She will not be bogged down by anything even the pleading of a mother with camera in hand to "just smile!" Perhaps "the refusal to make excuses"= charisma.

I'd like to live a life without excuses. I think I'll try. We SO need to get Lucy and Olive together. I think they're meant to be bosom buddies.

Where did you get that adorable dress? I find myself fighting blaming game too often. Just yesterday I was thinking about this because I spilled some water in my purse a few weeks ago and my ipod was a little damp. It seemed to work ok, but when I pulled it out yesterday it would not turn on. I was upset and instantly wanted to blame the water bottle company for the faulty cap that I thought was closed or for the design of my huge purse that did not accommodate a slot for a water bottle that wouldn't tip over. I had to remind myself that it was entirely my fault. Luckily my ipod still works. But what would life be like if I held no desire to excuse away my life with 100% satisfaction in my decisions. That would be nice indeed.

I have really tried to stop making excuses lately. Like when someone does a drop in and the house is messy I just don't say anything.

First of all. . . she is so darn adorable! Secondly. . .how great it would be if we could live that way? Thanks for a good (and much needed) tip! I am going to work on it. Thirdly, thanks for the FABULOUS CD's! We have been listening to them non-stop! You should start a mix CD business because you sure do know how to pick them. You are the BEST!

Those pictures are painfully cute. I feel like Whitney is like this to some extent, but I'm wondering if I'm squashing it out of her. Oh dear. Most likely we all start out with a bit of it and then gradually change our ways to fit in and follow the rules.

The budget and hormones are my biggies. Maybe I'll try this refusal of sorts. It looks as though she knows something I do not.

She is so very cute. I think she may need a fruit helmet of some sort to complete the outfit.

I am good at finding excuses, which is why I'm still just amazed at you running girls (in the post above) and not one of you. Want to, just keep finding reasons not to. Hmm, you've made me think about this excuses thing!

That is a dang cute little gypsy girl. I like your definition of charisma - maybe we should all try to rid ourselves of our excuses...
