Nothing more than a Thursday

Yesterday Dust twisting in the air
Scallop chowder simmering at the stove
Cave-Aged Gruyere toasts melting in the oven
And Freesia fragrant on the table

The weather outside matched my mood inside: You could barely see two streets over, it seemed a cooling rain was possible but not likely, and everything acted so agitated out-of-doors.

Did you get the rain storm all night long like we did!!? What a beautiful meal -I assume you like to cook ;) My hubs would love that homemade soup! -ciao

Your meal looks delicous. You can never be sad when it rains in AZ. You are always desperate for some water. I am glad you guys are getting some at least more frequently.

It is currently down pouring here right now.

OK, when are you cooking for me?! Looks delicious, and I can only imagine the wonder of the smell. Cave-aged gruyere? Just where are those caves...and is it much better than the deliciousness I get from Safeway. Sadly (ask my hips & thighs), I'm a cheese fan.

Scallop chowder and gruyere toast?? I really need to come to your house for dinner.

Freesia are one of my absolute favorites because of their scent--I love that you always have fresh flowers.

Amy, I do my cheese shopping at Costco--they have great selection!!

Katy, you need a Trader Joe's close, their flowers are sooo cheap!

Yes! Fresh flowers are a must! Love the soup, the toast, the storm brewing outside (you cooked appropriately for the weather ... stormy weather equals soup in my world), and the way you tied it all together.

How fun that you got to meet Amy! I enjoy her blog so much. Lucky girl! She got to spend the day with you. i want a "Jordan fix" too!

Rainy windy weather always makes me feel more like making the house nice and cooking something fun. Your photos are all tantalizing.

This looks like quite the cozy solution to a blustery day! I love the freesia. I love having fresh flowers in the house, and I agree -- Trader Joe's is a great place to get them. I can't wait for peony season in a month or so.

That toast looks so good, you're dinners are so impressive. It's sad you guys need it to cool down already and it's only April. I'd never make it alive in Arizona.

Sounds delightful. A storm to cool you down. I'm with everyone else...when are you cooking for me? It looks delicious. Do your kids eat what you make?

I wish my stormy moods all ended thus. Freesias and gruyere toasts. Did it do the trick?
