Snacks, Snuggles, and "Rain Delay"

Don't your mid morning snacks consist of ice, olives, and cashews (and safety goggles)?

Seth and Hazel in the morning--it could be a song.

As I sit to type this out, it is the hour of the sprinklers (ours come on at 10pm then again about 15 mintues later). We have a patch of grass in the back yard for which these sprinklers exist. Well, there is a special button on our sprinkler control box, or whatever, that you can push called "rain delay". I pushed it today. Large amounts of cool cool water washed over the valley two days after the first day of Spring. It started after S and L's bath this morning. We pulled Dad out of bed to come stand in it with us. Cold drops on our shoulders assured us that Spring hadn't sprung unsung here, but was just holding back a little. So tonight, as three of us sat down to spaghetti and meatballs, Seth said, "Bless the broken Lincoln Log box that I broke, Bless the cheese on my meatballs, thank you for Daddy's new shirt" and "thank you that it's raining today". Amen!!

Yes! I loved today's showers. Did you guys get booming thunder? It worked unprecedented magic on my boys who each slept for 4 hours this afternoon. Your Seth & Hazel pictures are fabulous...you caught a beautiful little moment.

Hurray for a cleansing rain delay! And for olives, and cuddles, and 3-yr-old wisdom.

Bless the cheese on my meatball. That is great. Yeah for morning rain! Ice is my two year old's favorite snack.

I can only imagine what a raining days must feel to a thirsty desert. Glad you're feeling a little of spring.

How cute is that prayer? I am amazed your children eat such good snacks. We are bad junkies over here. Glad you are getting some much needed rain. Hopefully the showers will bring flowers for your SPT next week.

The photos are so cute it hurts, and that sweet prayer has got to be enough to hold a mom's heart over for awhile right? So sweet!
