To Blog or Not to Blog

This is me with two of my three sisters (the youngest is in Ecuador). Katy on the far right and Ashley (obviously the bride). I am trying to convince them to start a blog. Perhaps my reasons are selfish. Katy lives in Florida and Ashley in Provo. It's sharing the details of our lives that brings us closer, and this has been a perfect spot for me to put those details. Who doesn't want to be closer to their sisters, especially ones so talented, beautiful and interesting as mine--but I'm biased.

*Why did YOU start a blog?

Wow, definitely sisters...and a very cute 3! I don't blame you for wanting them to blog. Two of my distant (in place, not relationship) sisters started blogging after I did. I was beyond thrilled. It's an incredible way to keep in touch...we do anyhow, but our blog conversations provide much-needed amusement.

I was introduced to blogs by my non-blood-dear-friend-sister Kelly. She has all the best ideas. I followed this one willingly.

First you guys are all so beautiful!

The main reason was for personal documentation and secondly like you to keep in touch with my family. My mom and dad, sister, etc. have had fun seeing videos and pictures of my kids on a daily basis. I have also LOVED reconnecting with old friends such as yourself as well as meeting new ones. A win win for all! Yes, they do need to start a blog. Do we need a petition?

I suppose I should ask myself, "Why have I not started a blog?"

Yes, Ingrid! Please ask and then climb aboard! I did, mostly just to document those little details of my life and to keep in touch, I and am so glad.

Your sisters are lovely - it runs in the family.

Tasha's embroidered goods are stunning. Jordan, use those colors! When I saw them, I thought, "That's so Jordan!"

The card by your dad made me laugh out loud! Is there a Cirque du Shawna out there, because I've been told many a time that my brood is much like a 3-ring circus! I think your dad sounds terrific.

YES!! Ingrid, go to www.blogger.com and start! They have made it even easier now. You have no excuses.

Two of my siblings have started blogs now and I feel we have grown so much closer. We are still working on the other six.
I started to document my life but this wonderful blogging community has been such a great bonus.

Elizabeth! That's fantastic...you have 8 siblings!! Wow. I'm with you on the added bonus of a whole new community of friends.

Thought I already commented...

Lovely photo!

I agree about the "details" and find it interesting that I tend to write only about the details while the big moments just happen all around me. The details did not have a place to go before now, and I think they are the most important parts.

All I have to say is Jenny made me do it.

It's a good journaling tool and a wonderful way to keep in touch with friends and make new friends.

I started blogging because my sister (Crystalyn) had a blog and I don't know why I felt compelled to follow suit, especially since I often feel my life is boring, but I am amazed at how fulfilling it has been. All these complete strangers feel like such close friends and that makes my life a little less boring. It's funny, you start to blog to tell your story, and in the end, you stay because of other's. Another one of my sister's has recently jumped in and loves it too. There are 7 kids in my family and I've tried to get my brother to do a photo blog, but I think it may just be us girls.
I so hope you can make it to the party in July. There are so many people I want to meet in person to have a 3-D picture behind the words.

I wish my sister would start a blog as well so I know exactly what you mean. She's not big at spending time on the computer so I doubt she ever will. Good luck with you pursuit.

I started my blog as a journal so not to forget the details of my life.

i started a blog because i loved jill's and i secretly want to be just like her.

none of jeff's family have blogs, i think they think i am crazy for having one, they read mine every day but never talk to me about it. weird.
i may have one of jeff's sister in laws roped in, but who knows.
