O Citrus Tree, O Citrus Tree...

So, our tree, straight out of the wild forest of northern Arizona, is as decorated as it's going to get. We do a different color every year (I get ornaments on sale after the holiday for next year's color--usually MS ornaments at K Mart)--this year was yellow. I wasn't able to do everything I wanted and we didn't have many yellow ornaments so I added "light blue" to the mix (blue was last year's color). So I was able to use my sister, Katy's wonderful mini "vogue" dresses that she made for us last year. Can you spot one of them? I also dried lemon slices and used the raw silk bow from my wedding dress as a tree topper (I am waiting to find the perfect star to go on top--haven't come across it yet). I told Craig, I would have a tree up year round if it that weren't such a ridiculous notion. Here's to a few more days of evenings spent in the glow of our Christmas tree.

BEAUTIFUL! What a cool idea to do a different color every year! I loved that bow when I saw it on your wedding dress in a photo at your house, and now I love it on your tree. . .very creative and I wouldn't expect anything less! There really is nothing like sitting in the Christmas tree glow. We've been doing a lot of that late at night while watching season 5 of 24 and eating too many large bowls of Blue Bell cookies and cream ice cream. Wish me luck with that pregnancy weight...YIKES!

Genius to use your sash from your wedding dress! I have always loved that you did that shash! The only thing I use lemon slices for around here is to put in my stinky garbage disposal. You are much more creative for sure!

Sara B! You are pregnant?!? How did I miss that? Congrats! When are you due?

Don't you dare get another tree topper. Your sash looks GREAT! How fun to have a different tree every year!

That is a totally cool idea Jordan. Of course I shouldn't expect anything less. So what do you do with all of the old ornaments?

Citrus tree fits AZ to a tee! Cute.

Jenny, I reuse neutral (silver, white, etc.) stuff and special ornanments of course, but I just save the ornaments and one year we will fulfill my husband's wish to do a technicolor tree. We try and be creative with our decor and use "disposable" stuff--like lemon slices!

Beautiful tree! I love the lemon slices! I had orange slices on my tree one year ... should do that again. Sitting in the glow of the Christmas tree is one of my favorite parts of the season. It is absolutely the best. Enjoy that citrus tree - the perfect tree for your mellow Christmas!

Your tree is gorgeous, especially against the blue wall. I thought you were being more relaxed this Christmas, what's up with drying your own orange slices and everything? I'm inspired and will definitely be hitting the after Christmas sales for new ornaments.

Gorgeous! I LOVE glimpsing a bit into your lovely home, and yes, the topper should stay... what a way to bring "family" into Christmas!
Can't wait to see you!

Very creative, Miss Jordan. I do particularly like Katy's blue "vogue" dress. Julianna was peeking over my shoulder and wanted to know just exactly where we could find one! Does your sister do special orders???

And Sara, I am a 24 and Blue Bell junkie myself. How far along are you? (Sorry, Jordan, to be using your blog to communicate with others, I am just so excited to hear she is pregnant!)

Ingrid, yes, my sister does take orders. I'll email you her info.

I love that you do a new tree every year! I enjoy my tree, but I could easily change it up frequently. Maybe next year will be time for something different... love the silk sash.

Love, love, love your tree. It is so fun coming up with different themes each year. For some reason I am stuck on pink...
