"Colour is my day-long obsession, joy and torment"--Claude Monet

As the seasons of my life pass, so do the colors I use. For a long time chartreuse has ruled the roost, I've moved onto oranges and this swimming-pool-like color (I haven't found a name for it), not quite torquoise-not quite blue (see vase above). So, this flower arrangement represents my "new color mood". Last night at the beading fest I even had napkins to match the arrangement and the cookies in a frosted glass orange bowl. Admittedly, it is an obsession that I have proudly inherited from my father. I am going to redecorate (as soon as I can afford it) the baby's room in these colors.

*The beaders were happy and busy last night, a success, I think. They want to gather again to continue the madness.

I absolutely LOVE that color blue. I have found it to be now everywhere, i.e. magazines, stores... Ever since we went to Utah my friend had that color in her house, and a purse that color. I have fallen in love with it.

So glad your enrichment was a success. I know you host a great party! I absolutely love orange and blue. The cover of HOME magazine had a living room in orange and blue a couple of months ago. I ripped it out for my files. Can't wait to see your new nursery in it!

First of all, I love the quote by Monet. You always have the best quotes. And that color of blue is one of my favorites. I don't know the name of it either, but it is perfect in every way. The combination with orange is stunning!

So glad to hear the ladies liked the cookies and beads. It's no secret you know how to throw a party, and it certainly looks like you are no slouch when it comes to throwing an Enrichment night either! Would have loved to have been there!

One of our Enrichment activities that was particularly enjoyable was the "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" pajama party. Everyone wore PJs and we played games, did some line dancing, did some beading (earrings), and had ice cream sundaes. They had all the classic 80'smusic playing, too. There was a great turnout (our ward is huge - about 100 sisters came) and it was a blast. You ward is lucky to have you!

Shawna, I can't believe you had 100 sisters come!! Our number tops out at 30 at the most that attend. That sounds like a blast.

Okay- Shawna.. I would be all over the whole 80's night too. Sounds totally fun!

I love the quote. And I LOVE the colors. I'm all about orange and blue these days. Although mine is more of a turquoise color. Please take pictures of the nursery when you redo.

Those flowers are gorgeous! Growing up we had a neighbor named Marilyn Smith (Anyone know her? If so don't tell her what I am about to say) who only planted orange flowers in her yard and I used to think it was horrid! Guess who planted all orange this spring?. . . yours truly! I too am loving the color as of late, hence my orange-ish/rust-ish accent wall in my family room. Wonder what we will all be loving next season? Jordan, this month is my half birthday, does that merit a box of those delicious looking cookies? ha ha! Way to go on that great enrichment night, that is my kind of enrichment, I bet it was a blast!
